Locating a taxi is easy. They can frequently be spotted outside the main exits of tourist attractions, in front of hotels, and at the cruise ship pier. In San Juan, trips are typically metered, except in specified "tourist zones" where fixed rates are applied and displayed.

Public transportation is accessible across the San Juan metro area, with the Department of Transportation and Public Works (DTOP) having established a network of 30 bus routes that cover the entire metro area.
